Cowboy Evening at the Top of Bobcat Pass
This is the 19th season of providing Cowboy Evening’s for owners Henry & Sue Lewis. Sharing in the responsibilities of all activities, preparations, and the hard work it takes to make these Cowboy Dinner’s and daily operations at the ranch a success, are family members Vance & Tonya, Hank, Tate, & Faith.
Last Saturday night my grandson & I along with several members of my family experienced a true Cowboy Evening full of authentic old west cooking, entertainment, and fun. This outdoor dinner theatre at the top of Bobcat Pass surpassed all expectations I might have had about chuck wagon cowboy cooking! As we walked up to the barn that houses the dinner, we could smell the aroma of what was to be a scrumptious meal. While we waited amongst a peaceful backdrop of breathtaking scenery, we pitched horseshoes, roped stick cattle, and listened to the magical music of Dulcimer Dan.
Dinner consisted of mouthwatering steak and chicken, corn on the cob, cowboy beans, baked potato, and rolls. My grandson’s favorite was the cinnamon rolls brought to the table for dessert. After dinner we moved to the outdoor theatre to be entertained by Sid Masters. He was talented and funny, and made sure the audience participated. Much fun was had by all!
Make your reservations for Cowboy Dinners on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday by calling 505-754-2769. Michael Martin Murphy is a regular favorite up at Bobcat Pass. He is booked 6 nights this summer as well as many other talented entertainers. Henry & Sue want you to know they also offer daily ATV and horseback rides thru the cool mountain trails of the Carson National Forest.
