This week our featured I Know Jo business is Angel Fire Homes Real Estate and Construction and Angel Fire Homes Property Management.
This week I was invited to attend the Sangre de Cristo Home Builders Banquet as guests of Angel Fire Homes Real Estate and Construction. The banquet was held to honor the builders in this year’s Parade of Homes Tour and to announce the winners. Angel Fire Homes and Construction won several awards, including the highest award, “The Grand Hacienda”, for a home they built in the Valley of the Ute’s. Edd told me, “It came to fruition along with the help of many extremely talented folks from right here in Angel Fire”. It was exciting for me to hear these judges from the Santa Fe Home Builders Association speak about the high level of excellence they saw in the homes built by Angel Fire Real Estate and Construction.
Edd Geoffroy and B.J. Lindsey, began the road to becoming Angel Fire Homes and Construction in the late 1990’s when B.J. would visit his Uncle Edd and Aunt D.J at their home in Plano, Texas. They would go to job sites of residential contractors to understand the building practices of the MetroPlex, kicking around the idea of building SPEC homes in the bustling economy of north Dallas. But after the economic impact of Sept. 11, 2001, Edd was asked to liquidate the oil and gas assets he had been managing for a corporate holding company that was heavily invested in the travel industry, basically selling himself out of a job and ending a 30 year career in oil and gas exploration and production. He and B.J.’s idea had to be put on hold.
In December 2002, Eland Energy, the same family who owns the Angel Fire Resort, purchased the oil and gas assets from Edd. The late Tim Allen, in January of 2003, invited Edd & D.J. to come to Angel Fire, a place they loved and had been visiting together on a regular basis since they began dating over 40 years ago. He asked to join the team at the Resort Real Estate office to help sell the new Valley of the Ute’s development. So in March 2003 Angel Fire became their home. Approximately 3 months later B.J. and his son Cole, also made the move to Angel Fire. He brought with him a talent and a work ethic that allowed him to find work with several local builders in the years to follow.
The opportunity for Edd and B.J. to re-visit their goal of becoming a partnership was realized in early 2008 when they became Angel Fire Homes Real Estate and Construction. Soon afterward they added an office in Eagle Nest at the Laguna Vista, now run by associate broker Tom Leitch, and in 2009, they joined forces with the Eby team of real estate agents, Kyle, Barbara, and Jud, to add vacation rental and property management to the company. Kyle originally founded Resort Properties of Angel Fire in 1983 but was forced to move to Texas in 1999 to assist his aging parents. Moving back to Angel Fire in 2007, they now manage the Gold Creek Condos, where the Angel Fire Homes Property Management office is located.
Voted the “Best of Angel Fire 2011” in three separate categories, Real Estate, Construction, and Lodging, you can feel secure in employing them to meet your various real estate needs. Edd says, feel free to drop in and say hello!
