“Dinner of Thanks” Celebrates 30 Years at the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce
Thanks to Lowe’s Valley Market and International Bank who sponsored our Dinner of Thanks, and Zeb’s Restaurant & Grill for the location and fabulous food. And to Tom Perry for the background music. Last Tuesday night was a night to remember! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, but not from sadness. It was from the laughter that was out of control! Light hearted silliness was our entire agenda.
I also want to say thank you to our Chamber Board Members for being such great participants and good sports when I pulled out the “Thank You” headbands for them to wear. They knew nothing about this prior to being called into the spot light! Then with their floppy headbands on, they were asked to sing a re-write of the song “Oh Lord It’s Hard to be Humble When Your Perfect in Every Way”, as a salute to our members. You can only imagine how funny it was. Then everyone in the room sang along for the chorus’ and laughter raised the roof!
Most people were unaware that we have been an organization for 30 years. We wanted to throw a party to say thank you to our members for their loyalty and support. We celebrated new members who have joined this year to members from the original group of businesses who came together to start the Chamber in 1982. Several of these businesses are still members and have been with us for these 30 years! Membership now at the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce has reached a grand total of 202. We have restructured dues, done away with the extra fees, and look forward to the next 30 years.
Again I want to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to All of our members. “Jo Knows” how special you all are!
