JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
Want a job that is better than your vacation?
Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Angel Fire Resort will hold their annual winter JOB FAIR. Because jobs are a precious commodity these days, I decided to tool around the different areas of the Resort, find out who is hiring, and get the word out to you.
First I spoke with Raine Williams in Human Resources. She gave me a list of the open positions for the coming winter season. The Resort is looking to fill approximately 200 positions. That’s a lot of jobs! Their goal is to build a team of people who enjoy their jobs as well as the many wonderful activities the Resort has to offer. I was told that happy employees make happy guests; therefore, the workforce and the customer service they provide is priority one at Angel Fire Resort!
I went to the Ski & Snowboard School and spoke with Director Robin May. He said they already have many returning ski and snowboard instructors on the roster, but he’d still like to hire around 40 more. Angel Fire Resort hires both certified and un-certified ski and snowboard instructors. Throughout the ski season there will be many training workshops available, including information/education on becoming PSIA certified or obtaining higher levels of certification. Robin said at this time a good job applicant would be high school and/or college students who either live in the area or have a family home here so they could work the Christmas holidays, spring break, and a maybe few weekends. I can’t think of better way to spend time off from school – skiing or snowboarding on your days off while getting paid! Sounds like a win-win to me! Robin says his goal is to inspire everyone with the lifelong passion for winter sports that he and the entire team of fantastic ski and snowboard instructors of Angel Fire Resort all share.
You don’t think becoming a ski or snowboard instructor is the right fit for you? No problem! Joe Kendall, Lodging Manager at the Resort, needs friendly faces to man the front desk and pleasant reservationists to help guests book and plan their vacations in Angel Fire. The Resort is also hiring people to work in the ticket office. Imagine having a job right at the base of the ski mountain!
Or, if are you a little more of the outdoors type, consider applying for a position in lift operations, transportation, or security. Do you have a way with children? Maybe you’d like to work in child care at the Resort Pre-School. Or are you better with one-on-one service? Food and beverage is hiring servers, table bussers, cashiers, baristas, hosts and hostesses, bartenders, dishwashers, line cooks, floor managers, and bar managers. Or if you are really good at keeping things clean and tidy, then housekeeping may be your choice.
Whatever your expertise, there may be a job waiting for you. Spruce up your resume and head over to the Angel Fire Resort Job Fair, Saturday November 10, 2012, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Lodge. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. You will be able to meet with the directors of each department at the Job Fair. These jobs begin in December and last through March. You, too, may be able to brag, my job is better than your vacation!
If you are unable to attend the Job Fair but are interested in winter employment, please fill an application online at:
