Always reboot the computer. Always, always, always.
A problem really isn’t a problem until you can make it happen again, after a reboot. Turn it off, power it down, keep it off for at least 10 seconds and then turn it back on. This will allow the electricity to drain from the memory chips and system, clearing all accumulated errors that Windows like to leave. Boot it back up and see if the problem happens again. 80-90% of your problems will be solved this way.
Computer Rule #2
