December, December, oh how I remember…the hustle and bustle, the giggles and smiles, and hopes of epic snowfall for our winter recreation this holiday season in Angel Fire! We’ve wrapped up November at the Chamber adding six new memberships and fourteen members who renewed their commitments. At our quarterly membership breakfast meeting, November 12, we rolled out the Chamber’s new “Cash Mob” program. It’s members helping members! Please stop by the Chamber for more information.
This week our office is buzzing with preparations for the Annual Chamber Christmas Dinner Party. One of our new members, H2 Uptown, will be hosting this year. The date is Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Get dressed-up, come early and stay late! The reception, cash bar, silent auction and entertainment by Ry Taylor all begin at 6:00 pm. Members may purchase tickets until Friday December 6th at the Chamber office or by calling 575-377-6353. (If you are planning to attend, seating is limited, please purchase as soon as possible.) We are extremely excited about the silent auction this year. It is filled with gifts, trips, and services. You will want to be the highest bidder!
Thursday, December 5, we hope to see you at Village Hall for the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. There will be caroling, dancing, and refreshments. We just watched as a village crew hung the lighted skier decoration on our light post in front of Centro Plaza. Thanks to our members and friends and countless others, the village will be festively decorated the entire season.
There is still time to purchase a ticket to the Angel Fire Garden Club Christmas Dinner. It will be held this Friday, December 6 at the Elliott Barker Girl Scout Camp. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber for $15.00.
Friday night December 6, you may also plan to attend the Annual Toy Run Auction at Zebs, 3431 Mountain View Blvd. Dinner starts at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $28.50 in advance (per person) or $50.00 per couple or $30.00 each at the door. Pay $10.00 to attend the auction and dance only or bring an unwrapped gift worth $10.00 or more for the Toy Run. Dance the night away to the music of the Velvet Funk Band.

We are very excited to be working with the Moreno Valley High School to start a Junior Chamber of Commerce in January 2014. And look for information coming soon about Angel Fire’s first Annual Winter Carnival co-sponsored by the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce and The Angel Fire Resort. This four day event is scheduled to take place in February 2014. Snow sculptures, snowshoe golf, dog races, and a snowman garden are only a few of the events we are planning. Watch for ways you can get involved!
As we have seen throughout 2013, more and more positive things keep happening at the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce. We are happy to be a part of this dynamic more forward. And I personally want to continue to give praise to our Ambassador Team and the Board of Director’s who give generously of their time and efforts to help make the Angel Fire Chamber so incredible and whose dedication makes it all work! And of course I cannot say thank-you enough to all of our members! This organization is membership based. You are the lifeline of the Chamber. Thank you all. Together we make a difference!
