Angel Fire, NM – May 31, 2015 – Moreno Valley Arts Council, the nonprofit organization devoted to promoting the arts, has launched a capital acquisition fund raising campaign. Initial funds for the purchase of a facility to house the 35 year old organization and Arts Activities is being conducted on the crowd funding site Indiegogo.
The facility will be used for workshops for children and adults in various modalities (painting, quilting, dance, etc). Additionally there will be exhibit space for shows and competitions, highlighting specifically local artists.
“For 35 years we have produced art shows, concerts, theatre performances and more, and we’ve always had to move around. We’ve essentially lived out of a post office box. It is time for a home of our own so we can more consistently serve the communities of the Moreno Valley with rich arts and cultural events and programming.” (Katherine McDermott, Executive Director)
Donations can be made at the Indiegogo site (above) or on our own website or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 335, Angel Fire, NM 87710. Note in the memo line “Capital Campaign” as funds will be restricted for that purpose.
The Moreno Valley Arts Council is a 501(c)3 Not for Profit Organization. Our Mission Statement is “to foster rural economic development by promoting the arts and humanities in order to enrich the lives of our residents and visitors.
In support of the efforts of the Moreno Valley Arts Council to acquire a home of their own; Any person or business that donates at least $500 will receive a 50% discount on a purchase of original art valued up to $1,200 when presenting their email receipt for the donation made on Indiegogo.
