Wild Wild West World Champion Roper & Comedian “The Oklahoma Kid” Marty Tipton
Thrill to the twirling rope of Marty Tipton, world champion trick roper and wild west comedian performer. Over one hundred years of family history has prepared the him for his career in entertainment. Tipton’s father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all directors and performers in Wild West Shows.
Marty Tipton is about as close as one can get to the American cowboy of yore this side of the year 2000. And while his cowboy hat and boots, and even his livelihood as a professional trick roper add to this conception, the similarities extend beyond the standard cowboy imagery. Tipton has a larger than life quality to him, telling stories in his friendly twang that seem believable enough but also carry with them a sense of the fantastic that belongs in a dime novel. He is a hilariously funny comedian who uses many antics, including trick roping, to engage his audience in laughter. He has performed in just about every type of venue imaginable. He has made crowds laugh at professional sports games, appeared in Broadway productions like the Will Rogers Follies, and has appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America. Tipton has taken the art of trick to new extremes like nothing ever seen before. You don’t want to miss his performance at the Habla Tamale Cook-off Festival in Angel Fire, New Mexico on August 8, 2015!
