Memo From Michael Turri, Past President Board of Directors
Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce
Good Afternoon Mr. Turri,
Thank you for your email concerning NM 434 from milepost 18 to milepost 23. The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is currently working on the design phase to widening NM 434 from milepost 17.24 to milepost 25.5 over the next several years. Due to the complexity and estimated cost, we are planning on constructing the corridor in three (3) Projects.
The 1st project for the corridor, which will run from milepost 17.24 to milepost 19.66, is currently being designed and is scheduled for construction the summer of 2016. It is anticipated that construction will take 2 to 3 years to complete depending on the weather. In addition, we will be completing the designs for the other two (2) projects. The 2nd project, which will run from milepost 19.66 to milepost 22.7, is currently scheduled to begin construction the summer of 2019 and the 3rd project, which will run from milepost 22.7 to the Jct. with NM 120, is currently scheduled to begin construction the summer of 2021. Please note that the current schedule for construction of the projects is based on current funding and is subject to change based on funding availability in the future. Also, based on weather each project is anticipated to take 2 to 3 years to construction.
If you have any questions or need any additional information, please give me a call at 505-454-3663.
