Mayor Barbara Cottam announced that Bill Humbert has been appointed the next chairman of Angel Fire Proud (AFP). Mayor Pro Tem Chuck Howe introduced Humbert to the Angel Fire Proud Committee at their monthly meeting on March 29. Humbert replaces Lysa Hopson who, after two years as chair, resigned her position to pursue more travel.
“I’m pleased to accept the chairmanship of this terrific committee,” said Humbert. “I look forward to working with the Angel Fire community and our committee, who have contributed so much to our village’s achievements. Angel Fire Proud has accomplished much under Lysa’s leadership and I see more even enhancements coming to our community.”
Bill Humbert and his wife, wife Lucy have had a home in Angel Fire since 2000. In 2014, they became full time residents. Humbert has more than 45 years in education and continues to teach an online college class each semester.
Established in 2013, AFP’s mission is to engage individuals to take greater responsibility for Angel Fire’s beautification. It consists of members from the Angel Fire community, businesses and local organizations. Work performed by each member is done on a voluntary basis.
