A GO Bond is a common type of municipal bond used by the Village of Angel Fire and other cities throughout New Mexico and the United States. The issuer (Village of Angel Fire) pledges part of the ad valorem tax rate from all assessable property within its jurisdiction to provide timely repayment of the debt. Cities use GO bonds, because it is a low-interest financing tool that helps pay for much needed capital improvements. GO bonds must be used for capital projects.

SUMMARY OF PROPOSED PROJECTS
The Village of Angel Fire has over 120 miles of roads. Virtually all of these roads are in need of maintenance and many need to be rebuilt. 40 years of erosion and blading have taken a significant toll on the roads leaving them full of potholes and unsound. In addition, much of the water and wastewater systems have exceeded their useful lives. They are in need of significant improvements to meet today’s standards and demands. To address these public safety issues the Village Council is presenting the community with a $4,500,000 General Obligation Bond proposal that will be used to start a 20 year master project designed to address these important community needs.
