Help us welcome three new board members to the Chamber and let us introduce you:
Catherine Moon – Moon Real Estate
From the beginning, Catherine was all about commerce. Her doll house was remodeled into a store. Starting with the bubble gum machine she got for Christmas…she sold all the bubble gum from the machine to her friends. Alas, her parents stopped that, so she sold the cartoons she drew during science class. After that came a stint at Conde Nast in NY in the marketing department of Mademoiselle Magazine. Then she moved to California where she spent 25 years in partnership of some very popular San Francisco Bay Area bars and restaurants plus at the same time, she and her husband Doyle owned vineyards in Napa Valley and a cutting horse training facility in Petaluma, CA.
After retiring, they moved to Angel Fire in 2003. But Catherine’s retirement was brief. She decided to go into real estate where you can find her in the offices of ReMax Mountain Realty.
Johnese Turri – Angel Fire Garden Club
Four years ago, Johnese and her husband, Michael, were able to realize their dream of moving full time to Angel Fire. She brought her passion and commitment for community involvement with her.
Johnese is currently president of the Angel Fire Garden Club, and serving on the boards of the Moreno Valley High School Foundation, Shuter Library and Art Up Northern New Mexico and serves on the Angel Fire Proud committee. Working with Jo Mixon, she helped to develop the Ambassador program to the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce.
She enjoys being out doors and loves all the beauty Mother Nature has to offer in Angel Fire. She also finds ways to incorporate that outdoor beauty into her varied arts and craft projects.
Her real love is spending time with her family, especially her 4 grandsons and new granddaughter!
P. Daniel Serna – Land and Home Services, LLC
Daniel is a New Mexican native, born and raised in Grants NM. His father’s family is from Mora, NM and his mother’s family is from Seboyeta, NM. He studied business and carpentry, at New Mexico State and CNM in Albuquerque, after which he worked odd jobs for many years. He was with Walmart for seven years, a grocery store manager for a while and then he joined the Carpenters Union and went into Commercial Construction.
About five years ago Daniel moved to Angel Fire to help his cousin Dominic in the restaurant and catering at Hatcha’s Grill of Angel Fire. They expanded with the purchase of Cafe Expresso and then opened H2 Uptown. In 2015 they decided to down size the restaurant business and go another direction. Together they started Land and Home Services, a business that features handyman services of all types, yard work, and snow plowing.
To downsize, they closed the original Hatches of Angel Fire location. Then in October 2016 sold Cafe Expresso to family members and it has become Hatches Cafe. H2 Uptown remaining as their premiere restaurant. Along with Land and Home Services, they stay busy.
Daniel is very active in the community, loves the outdoors and spending time with family, friends and Daisy (his golden lab dog).
