The Carson National Forest is restarting monthly forest plan revision open houses. The next open house will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Carson NF Supervisor’s Office (208 Cruz Alta Rd.) in Taos. Additional open houses are scheduled for May 15, 2019 and June 12, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Supervisor’s Office.
These are informal opportunities for the public to interact with the forest plan revision team, learn about the revision process and new documents we are producing, and hear about upcoming opportunities to get involved. There is no set agenda or presentation. You don’t need to arrive at 12:00 or stay for the full 2 hours.
The Carson National Forest is revising its current forest plan to address needed management changes so that the forest can provide healthy forest resources and benefits for present day use and future generations. We will be releasing an official draft forest plan and draft environmental impact statement in the next few months, with more formal opportunities to be involved and provide comments this summer. In the meantime, please read about the process and look for updates on our forest plan revision website.
