Friends, Neighbors, and Guests of Angel Fire,
The Governor of New Mexico and the New Mexico Health Secretary issued another public order. The order has instructions to Stay-at-Home. It went into effect March 24 at 8:00 am. It closes all non-essential businesses and requires as many businesses as possible to work from home. For now basic retail business and recreational facilities and venues are no longer allowed to operate in the State of New Mexico. Webinars and teleconferencing are the new “office spaces”, even for those who live in the same towns. These orders will remain in effect until April 10, 2020.
I would like to take a moment to say thank you to the residents of Angel Fire and the communities that surround us in the Moreno Valley, for taking the orders put forth by the Governor seriously. This is not easy and I guarantee you, all of us are feeling it. It’s somewhat unsettling to face the unknown, especially when everything that is our normal routine is simply not normal at this time. We totally understand!
We want to especially thank those essential business; medical staff, food establishments, the volunteers providing food for our out of school kids and our elderly population, grocery stores, municipal infrastructure including police, fire, utilities, child care, Fed Ex and UPS and the Postal service, etc., whose employees are going the extra mile to keep us healthy, safe, and fed, working overtime to provide for us.
Also, we truly value our guests in Angel Fire, but while the State of New Mexico is under a public health emergency, we ask that potential visitors stay home and stay healthy. The order prohibits gatherings of more than 5 people and only essential businesses remain open. We hope to welcome you back as soon as the orders are lifted!
We are in this together and truly appreciate that we stay united.
Thank you,
Jo Mixon
