A Type-1 team was ordered and is en route. The local Northern New Mexico Type-3 IMT (Incident Management Team) will retain oversight until a transfer of command occurs. “This fire is burning along the Carson National Forest Boundary in the general area that borders Mora, Colfax, and Taos Counties. As the fire burns across jurisdictional boundaries, we rely on our relationships and coordination with New Mexico State Forestry and many of the local jurisdictions as we work together in suppressing this fire,” said James Duran, Forest Supervisor. “Due to limited resource availability, we have yet to establish a public meeting format and ask the public for patience as we establish systems to keep everyone informed on this fire. Our focus at this time is fire fighter and community safety.”
