Our efforts to host a Point of Distribution (POD) for the administration of COVID Vaccines has finally paid off. Angel Fire will be hosting our first, of what we plan of many, COVID POD’s on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at our very own Angel Fire Community Center. This first POD will only be for those categorized as Phase 1A and 1B New Mexicans.
Phase 1A: All persons serving in health care settings who have direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials and are unable to work from home, as well as residents of long-term care facilities. This includes workers in congregate settings and first responders.
Phase 1B: All individuals 75 years of age and older, individuals 16 or older with underlying medical conditions that place them at greater risk from COVID-19, frontline essential workers who cannot work remotely, and vulnerable populations. For additional information on Phase categories and guidance, please visit the DOH website at: https://cv.nmhealth.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/2021.1.8-DOH-Phase-Guidance.pdf
There are several important steps you must be aware of and take prior to the event as this event will only be for those who have:
1) Registered to receive the vaccination through the Department of Health website at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/ or telephonically for individuals requiring technical support assistance or do not have internet service at 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support. IF YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED, YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE AN INVITATION TO RECEIVE A VACCINATION AND WILL NOT BE INCLUDED (ALLOWED) AT THE EVENT.
2) Received a special event code. The New Mexico Department of Health will notify a pool of eligible members (1A and 1B) within our community that the vaccine is available with a special event code. This opportunity to schedule an online appointment is offered on a first come, first served basis and is done entirely by the Department of Health. If you are not able to schedule an online appointment by selecting a specific location (Angel Fire) and date (Feb 11, 2021), please do not show up at the event. Please do not worry. This will not be your only opportunity to schedule an appointment. The DOH will reach out and notify you of additional opportunities in the future. Your special event code is an invitation for you only. Please do not share this code with others.
3) A scheduled appointment. Once you have a scheduled appointment for this event you will receive notification and reminders 3 days prior, the day before and the day of your appointment. Please make sure you complete the medical questionnaire on the day of your appointment. You will not be able to complete the questionnaire until the day of your appointment.
For further information, please visit the NM Department of Health website for frequently asked questions at https://cvvaccine.nmhealth.org/faqs.html#q-sec3-004.
Please show up for your appointment at the Village of Angel Fire Community Center located at 15 CS Ranch Road 15 MINUTES PRIOR to your appointment. There is no need to show up earlier as you will be processed at your appointment time. Please expect to spend 30-45 minutes for the complete process from administrative registration/verification, vaccination and post vaccine health check. The Community Center (to include the parking area and entrance road) will be closed to anyone not working the event or not having an appointment to receive the vaccine. We appreciate your patience, and our goal will be to have additional vaccinations events as soon as reasonably possible.
Jo Mixon – Mayor, Village of Angel Fire
M. Jay Mitchell – Village Manager Village of Angel Fire
Chief Kevin Henson – Chief of Fire and EMS – Angel Fire Fire Department

No texts and I registered on NM.gov. I am an essential worker, work in local pharmacy, best care, almost 70 years old, immune-compromised, one kidney and the only text I received was verified receipt I am registered at NM gov site. Why haven’t I received a notification? Would appreciate a response.
