Due to the Omicron pandemic, the Shuter Library is cancelling the February Mardi Gras Ball, one of our largest fundraisers for 2022. Over the past several years, this event has been one of the library’s mainstay funding events, but the Shuter Library Board of Directors feels the safety of our community takes precedence. Cancelling at this time is for the best.
But wait, there’s good news! Cancellation doesn’t mean we won’t be continuing with some of the fun events that would have taken place at The Ball. The library will still be having the 50/50 raffle. The last winner won over $2,000. Yes! That much, and it could be you this time. Tickets can be purchased directly at the library. Half of the collected proceeds go to the lucky prize winner and half goes to the library. The winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, April 16th at 2:30pm. You don’t have to be present to win.
The library will once again be holding their Spring Fling Online Virtual Auction. We’ll have some big ticket items and lots of donations made into many captivating packages. We are asking for your support by either donating an item or bidding on some of our incredible auction items. All proceeds benefit the library 100%. Renida Carter and Carol Shook will be collecting all donations: to donate an item, contact Renida Carter at renida@pobox.com or 505-903-1012. The online auction will go live from May 2 to May 8.
Your donations provide unique library services to the residents of Angel Fire, surrounding communities and to visitors from out-of-town. Thank you all for your support in helping to keep the Shuter Library’s doors open.
Watch for more news about the construction on the new Children’s Educational Annex. We are very excited to begin sewing, 3D printing, computer programming, LEGO Robotics and more!
Thank you,
The Shuter Library Board of Directors and Library Staff
