Meeting 1
Topic: What To Do About Our Roads
Speaker: Bob Sherwin
When: Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 5:30 pm
Where: Village Hall
We have been meeting with Mr. Sherwin, CEO of Lithified Technologies, discussing and learning about his superior High-Performance Sustainable Road Base Technology, as a way to move forward in the repair of Village roads. This technology would bring us stronger road base with less maintenance and lowers the cost of reconstructing/resurfacing our failing roads.
We’d like to share with our residents, why we think this is a good direction for the village road system. We get more complaints on roads than any other issue in the Village. Therefore we have been looking at good alternatives, since I took office in 2020, that will help with cost and last longer on our mountain streets. This technology is exciting!
Manager Martinez, Mayor Pro-Tem Billingsley and myself have even traveled to some of the towns where this project has been in the ground for 4 years. We believe it is the direction to move forward. I have added the website link to Lithified Technologies so you may read more about it and even sign up for a webinar. Please attend this Town Hall.
Meeting 2
Topic: EMS Issues In Angel Fire You Need To Know
When: Monday, April 18, 2022 at 5:30 pm
Where: Village Hall
Most Angel Fire residents may not know that the Angel Fire EMS has been totally responsible for taking all 911 calls from Eagle Nest over the past 9 months, when they voluntarily suspended their own ambulance service, due to lack of a certified EMS Director. We have never refused a call, responding to over 100 calls and during this time there have been 17 times, all of our ambulances and staff were in Eagle Nest leaving Angel Fire without EMS service for up to 8 hours at a time. Several of those times, Angel Fire residents and/or our guests had to wait for an ambulance from Taos or Red River to respond to the emergencies here. (That is 1 hour+ wait time in an emergency situation)
It is the budget preparation cycle now at Village Hall, this extra service we have been providing is expensive. We are in new discussions with the state, the PRC and our legislators to help find a solution, as your tax dollars, as residents of Angel Fire, are paying for this service. We would like to hear from you. Please attend this Town Hall.
Thank you,
Jo Mixon
Mayor, Village of Angel Fire
